      Job Title: PADI Divemaster Intern

      • Full Time Exchange Programme (See inclusions)
      • 40 hours per week for approximately 18 weeks: 15SEP16 – 31JAN17 or 01FEB17 – 15JUN17
      • Remote location

      We are looking for a PADI Divemaster Intern for our small business on World Heritage listed Lord Howe Island. Applicants should be passionate about SCUBA diving and the environment, physically fit and have a friendly disposition. Applicants should also be prepared for living on a remote island.

      The intern will report to Aaron and Lisa Ralph, business owners as well as their OWSI mentor. Please refer to the Job Description for a list of responsibilities, skills and experience required (to be emailed on request).

      Although this is an unpaid position, please see a list of inclusions:

      • Return flights from SYD/BNE to LDH
      • Transfers to and from LDH Airport
      • Accommodation on Lord Howe Island (excluding telephone / internet)
      • Dive packs for PADI courses 
      • All boat and shore dives
      • Use of SCUBA equipment
      • Pro Dive Lord Howe Island uniform
      • Training, guidance and support

      We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting an Underwater Photography Workshop with Amanda Cotton. Details are:

      Date: March 2017

      Group Size: 10 divers

      Best For: Intermediate to Experienced Divers

      Trip Information:

      • 7 nights lodging at Leanda Lei Apartments, 5 days diving

      • 11 dives: 2 dives per day, depart at 9am, return around 1pm, 1 night dive. Balls Pyramid to be included in these dives if weather permits

      Join photographer Amanda Cotton for an underwater photography experience like no other. The expedition includes an in depth underwater photography workshop covering :

      • Strobe/housing configurations

      • Basic exposure and understanding

      • White balancing

      • Shooting modes/ etc. 

      • Strobe use and function

      • Photoshop tutorials including workflow

      • Information on shooting macro including strobe use

      • Exposure and lighting techniques, etc.

      • Information on shooting close up wide angle

      • Exposure changes for different environments 

      • Strobe techniques

      • Backscatter removal

      • Basic workflow for image cataloging

      • Copyright protection information

      • Conversion to black and white

      • Removal of unwanted items in image

      Workshop is open to all shooters from beginner photographers to advanced shooters. While we are excited to offer the Underwater Photography Workshop at no additional cost to this expedition pariticpation in the course is not required to join us on this adventure.
